This publication is driven by the need to promote investments in agroforestry systems (SAFs) in the Cerrado biome and across Brazil. To this end, it brings together various case studies that demonstrate the financial viability of SAFs specifically adapted to the Cerrado.

Its aim is to confirm their attractiveness to investors, financial institutions, implementing organizations, and companies within the value chain, helping them recognize the opportunity these models present and encouraging their expansion in the biome. Additionally, this material provides an overview of the social and environmental safeguards that must be considered and respected in the design and implementation of SAF projects in Brazil, in order to establish the foundation for expanding investments—without causing negative social or environmental impacts.

Esta publicação é motivada pela necessidade de fomentar investimentos para os sistemas agroflorestais (SAFs) no Cerrado, e no Brasil, e para isso, reúne diversos estudos de caso que atestam a viabilidade financeira de SAFs específicos para o bioma Cerrado.

Pretende-se confirmar sua atratividade para investidores e instituições financeiras, implementadoras e empresas da cadeia de valor a compreender a oportunidade que reside nesses modelos, incentivando a expansão no bioma. Ademais, este material traz um panorama das salvaguardas socioambientais que devem ser observadas e respeitadas no desenho e implementação de projetos de SAFs no Brasil, para definir as bases de como se dará essa expansão de investimentos – sem causar impactos socioambientais negativos.
